ACE was proud to be a sponsor of last night’s Taste of the Port event, held at the Port Pavilion on San Diego’s scenic Broadway Pier. The annual affair is put on by the Port of San Diego, and this year’s event was orchestrated with the assistance of the team at San Diego Magazine. In support of the Port of San Diego’s Green Port Month, the theme of the evening was sustainable cooking, and the event featured lots of locally sourced ingredients and fresh fish. The evening proved to be a lovely one, featuring great food and drinks, great entertainment and great company. Many local and waterfront businesses featured samples of their savory cuisine and beverages, including Bali Hai, Flour & Barley, Sally’s Fish House, Blue Wave Bar and Grill, and Mike Hess Brewing, to name a few. Sushi Tadokoro was an attendee favorite, preparing an abundance of fresh sushi delights onsite to guest specifications. Entertainment included a live band and a live Top Green Chef competition, which mimicked the format of the popular Food Network show Chopped. Executive Chefs Katy Smith (Puesto), Michael Poompan (Marriott Coronado Island Resort & Spa), and Kyle Kovar (Tom Ham’s Lighthouse) competed to prepare the best dishes using sustainable ingredients.

ACE Owner & Managing Partner, Keith Jones, was in attendance, as was ACE Director of Operations for Downtown San Diego, Brian Tarbell. ACE hosted a booth at the event, staffed by Commercial Department Manager, Brad Elsass, Marketing Coordinator, Alexandra Dye and Business Development Coordinator, Andrea Marroquin. The 2016 Taste of the Port was well orchestrated, and provided an enjoyable evening and a great chance for the community to come together and support the Port of San Diego.
